Question GT 240 is PCI 2.0 or 2.1?

Hi, I have a old p4m900-m7 fe motherboard with core 2 duo e7500 and 2 gb ram ddr2.
I want to buy a GPU but I read that my motherboard only supports up to 2.0 (2.1 and 3.0 NOT WORK IN MY MOTHER), the motherboard has pci ex 16x 1.0 (last bios update 2/24/2009) .
I tried a gtx 750 and it doesn't work (logically), I need to buy a gpu, but I don't know if gt 240 msi 1 gb ddr3 is 2.0 or 2.1 pci, my other option is hd 4650. I know that hd would work, but I would prefer gt 240 if it is 2.0.

PCI-E 2.0 Video card in PCI-E 1.0 Slot?

Will a PCI-E 2.0 Video Card run in a PCI-E 1.0 slot? If so, what would be the drawback of such an arrangement?

Nope, in old motherboards with pci 1.0 and old bios, not work pci 2.1 and 3.0, read this comment is a popular problem in old mother

And as I said I tried a gtx 750 and it did not work, the cooler turns but there is no video. The old motherboard does not accept 2.1 or 3.0. The gtx 750 works perfect in other pc's.

Well all I am seeing is the gpu you wanted is listed a pcie 2.0 pretty much everywhere, if your still pondering whether or not its truly 2.0, 2.1 then go with the safer other card, because you would have to test that out physically.

Yes, I was actually looking for someone who has tested gt 240 on pci 1.0 with old bios, the ati 5000 series is listed in all sites as 2.0 and is 2.1.
