GT 440 DDR5 vs GT 640 DDR3

Hello, I'm looking to get a low-power video card, and I'm on a tight budget. I found these two GPUs new on ebay: a Galaxy GeForce GT 640 DDR3 for $50 and a Galaxy GT 440 DDR5 for $35. I not planning any serious modern gaming... maybe some COD4, Burnout Paradise (@ 720p at the most, with some AA)... so wanting to spend < $50. Which one do you think might give more performance for the dollar? I haven't seen many benchmarks or comparisons between the two.

save $30 more and get a Ghz Edition HD 7770 for $80. It's like 3 times the card those are... and can even game modestly in 1080p... neither of those two cards will play COD4 in 720p.

the 640 is better in performance and performance for the dollar. the extra 15 dollar expense is worth it.

yes... but it won't game COD4 in 720p. which is the OP's desire. Its a waste of money. The OP should save a few more bucks and get a solid gaming GPU, not waste his $$ on a low end HTPC card.

true, i was just answering his question for his budget. he would definitely have to save up just a little more to game at those settings. i know that a 650 can play many games at high graphics (not sure about 720p) and same with 7750. both relatively low budget cards that can perform well.

The GDDR3 version of the 640 is especially weak, the GT 630 is weaker than the 6 year old 9600 GSO so neither of them are good purchases

The 7770 is a better purchase all around, the 650 would be a nice purchase if it were cheaper
