Hey guys
After doing lots of research for my budget of 5k rupees i have finally decided upon two cards.
Sapphire Radeon HD 7730 2GB DDR3
Nvidia gt730 1gbddr5

Which of these two do you think i should buy?
Thanks for helping me out guys.

The GT730 comes in 64 bit and 128 bit versions.
Strangely, the 64 bit version is considerably faster than the 128 bit version.
If the GT730 is 64 bit, buy that, it is 3 tiers faster than the 7730.

If the GT730 is the 128 bit version, they are similar to the 7730, one tier slower.

The 64 bit 1gb gddr5(From gigabyte) version i found is 5.3k indian rupees while radeon hd 2gb ddr3(sapphire) is 4.6k.
Which one do i take?

And would hd 7730 run on my 300w hp company provided psu?
Here is the link to the image of my psu

Also would the hd7730 fit in my pci slot? (I am currently using nvidia gt230) Here is the image to my pci slot as well

Many Thanks :)

If your budget permits, buy the GT730 64 bit.
Not only is it considerably faster than the GT230, but it takes less power.
Here is a chart:

I do think your psu would run either.
Actually, you could run a much stronger GTX750ti if you wanted on your 300w psu.
In addition, a GT730 could be simply dropped in and use the same nvidia graphics driver.
The AMD would involve replacing the nvidia graphics driver with the appropriate amd graphics driver.

Your graphics slot is a pcie X-16 slot, not a pcie slot.
Pcie-x16 is the norm for all modern graphics cards.
Either card would fit the slot.
If there is any fitment issue, it will be with how high the cards are. If your pc has a slim case, you will need a low profile graphics card.

And... spend some time cleaning out the dust in your cpu cooler.

Thanks for the detailed answer :)
I checked out that realhardtech site.
It says i need 350w.
Though even i feel hd7730 should run on my 300w psu the reason i sent you my psu pic was because i wanted you to determine the quality of the psu and if its amps provided would also be suitable.
And no doubt you are much more experienced in gpu card selection but all my friends are urging me to get the 7730 saying it gets much better gaming performance.
Your views?
And about cleaning the cpu,I dont know how to clean it out..do we use an air blower or something?

Thanks :)

A damp cloth or Qtip to get dirt off the cooling fins.
Canned air can do it too.

If a graphics card does not require a 6 pin pcie power connector, it will be powered entirely by the pcie slot.
Such a slot can deliver 75w max @12v.

The label on your psu shows 280w combined with 5.5v, but not 12v directly.
Older power supplies generated more wattage on the 3.3 and 5.5v where it used to be important.
Today, the cpu and graphics cards are what need 12v. It is unclear to me how well your psu would do.
As a generic unit, I would not be thrilled about the quality either.
I would be careful and use only an efficient graphics card, and I think the GT730 would be that.

Moreover, the GT730(64 bit) is stronger on tom's hierarchy list.

So the radeon hd 7730 won't work on my computer?
The reason im considering the 2gb ddr3 hd7730 is because i got only 4GB RAM with an i5 processor (4 cores) at 2.7Ghz.
So do you still think i should go with the gt730 1gb gddr5?
And what's really the difference between 64 bit and 128bit?is the 64bit faster always than the 128bit cards?
Do you think i can play gta5,witcher3 etc on gt730?
Thanks so much for ur help :)

Thanks lots :)

I think the 7730 would in fact work on your computer.
But, that would be my last choice among the three you listed.
If, for no other reason that you would need to change graphics drivers.

The 64 bit version of the GT730 is faster because it has 385 CUDA cores, compared to 96 on the 128 bit version.
The faster speed of the 128 bit interface does not make up the difference.

The ram on the Video card has no relation to the ram on your pc.
Vram is only used for the internal workings of the graphics card.
How much will be appropriate to each card.

If you want to compete on an equal basis with your friends, then the 7730 or GT730(128) will give you parity.
If you want to do better, then buy the GT730(64).
