Hi, my brother has GTA 5 on his PC and has shared his library with me, i have in exchange shared my library with him and so far it's been all good. I however want to play GTA 5 online using MY social club account. Since both of us know each other's password we access either account any time. Rockstar Social Club says once a key is entered it will be linked to that steam and social club account. I can view the GTA 5 key on his account and can enter it on mine. We want to know if that will make both copies work, or one, or none. If it only makes one work at a time could we go through the process where i enter the key anytime i want to play, and he enters it back anytime he wants to play? or would it only work once?

Yeah, I don't think that's going to work. Your brother probably already linked the key to his Social Club account. They aren't going to let you use the same CD Key for a second account. If your brother hasn't already linked the key to his account he probably won't be very happy with you if you use it and he can't.

My guess is that you will be able to play the single player on your Steam account through Family Sharing but you won't be able to play GTA Online without a a key tied to your Social Club account. The only way around that is going to be buying your own copy of the game or playing GTA Online under your brother's Social Club account.

Unfortunately you just missed the Steam Holiday Sale where GTA V was on sale for 2 weeks.
A key should only work for single account, as you said in your own posting. Every developer (or publisher?) can decide if the game is usable through family share. I wouldn't expect it working. You could try, but don't whine if something gets messed up.
