Hi guys as stated on thread's title I'm having little troubles running gta 5 on my computer.
specs are: gtx 970 with 4 gb vram, 8 gb ram, i5 4960 3.5 ghz and as rock h97 pro4 motherboard.
Thing is I can run evrything on ultra and I do have around 60 fps though it is not costant at all...I have huge fps drop especially when I go in the countryside where I get something like 20-30 fps...I tried to lower some stuff but I still get those drops. I'm fine inside city though...
Was wondering why...I know I don't own a super desktop setup but I heard people whom older pc managed to run everything maxed...any help? Thanks in advance
p.s Apart ingame settings are there any useful setting on nvidia control panel?

I have a very similar system. GTX 970 and an AMD CPU. I average a little above 70 fps on 1440p resolution. I use the recommended settings that are given to me by GeForce Experience. The resolution that you run that game at can be a big factor as well. You can max at all the settings on an old machine if you are running at 720p, but at a resolution like 1440p, you might have to drop a few settings. It still looks AMAZING.

Hey thanks for the reply...
Well I doubt it's my monitor's fault...it is pretty old, an acer with a 1440x900 resolution xDDDD
I lowered grass quality from ultra to high as sussgested on the net bu there's no difference still huge fps drop :/
I'd prefer having 60 but costant fps instead of 90 fps here and 20-30 there...it's just like wtf? :/

I'm fairly sure it's just the current optimization of the game. I have similar specs, a slightly newer CPU. And I get the same occasional frame drops. Just try lowering the civilian variety and amount in the settings, might help a little bit.

TL;DR wait for better drivers for the game or wait for it to be more optimized (fairly new on PC)
