Not sure where else to go, I don't seem to be getting any answers from Rockstar neither can I find a fix online.

So basically my GTA 5 launcher is CONSTANTLY losing connection, I have this problem with no other game at all I am 100% sure that the fault is not my internet or my router. I have the retail version (the 7 discs) I install them fine, then there is the following 5gb update which is where I am experiencing the issues. Sure, I can leave the updater on, keep pressing pause, retry and so on BUT after it's downloaded 1gb - 2gb the download will just restart to the beginning again! Cheese and Rice! this problem is the most frustrating issue I've ever come across. It's practically impossible for me to update the game, unless I was to sit here for the next 3 years clicking pause... start.... pause.... start.

PLEASE! Any help at all with this issue will be very much appreciated!

Solution
Rockstar Tech Support would be a good place to start. I know you haven't had a lot of luck with them, but that's the best I can offer. Either that or the public forums over there.

Yes, all clean.

Also, I forgot to mention, my internet seems to "cut off" or restart or even dramatically slow the internet speed of other devices ONLY while the GTA5 is trying to update.

I see, I'll take a look in my router settings then I gues... Although I don't really know what i'm looking for

I'll get a post up there then as soon as possible. Thanks for all your help, was lost before this post on where to start.
I'll get back to you if I get stuck again. Thanks!

Got my problem sorted, kind of. The launcher was re-downloading the same file over and over again, I compared the MD5 with other peoples and my "Patchday3ng rpf file" was corrupt or didn't match. So since the launcher wouldn't download anything for me I had to find an external download somewhere and replace the bad file.

I found a post on reddit where someone had uploaded some of these files. I downloaded the one i needed and replaced mine with it and abra cadabra, the game launched!
