GTA V Borderless Window

Hello. I'm currently playing gta v in borderless window mode. i run it on 1080p instead of my monitor's native 1440p but unfortunately running it on 1080p borderless window results in the actual game window running on 1080p size instead of up-scaling to 1440p like what most games that offers this mode do. 1080p gives me constant 60fps while 1440p dips below quite frequently when driving at the same graphics settings. please note that i don't want to play in fullscreen mode. is there anyway to resize the gta v borderless window screen? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Try to change the resolution in Windows to 1080p. Right click the desktop, and choose Screen Resolution.

What possible reason do you have to NOT want to play in normal Fullscreen?

I've heard of it solving a few glitches for games in the past but in general there's no benefit and in fact there can be problems by using more video memory since I don't think it can flush the Windows video data to System Memory without locking to Fullscreen (which can eat up more than 500MB of video).

My advice is to use Dynamic (AMD Radeon) or Adaptive Vsync (NVidia Control Panel), run Fullscreen 1080p, then tweak the game settings so you rarely drop below 60FPS (for 60Hz monitor) or possibly 72FPS for 144Hz monitor (Half Adaptive/Dynamic VSync).

Other:
If you're troubleshooting STUTTER then be aware that's just currently bad code in most cases that a future patch should fix. I don't think trying to run borderless will help at all.

He answered that at the beginning. 1440p taxes his GPU to the point he cant get the holy grail of 60 FPS.

tried markw's tip and it works like a charm. it may not be an elegant solution but at least the game takes up the fullscreen real estate when i'm playing (really annoying to change it back to native whenever i'm done though). i never noticed nor felt any kind of performance degradation whenever i'm playing at borderless window. i always enable it by default if the game permits it because windows built in v-sync seems to be wayyyy wayyyy better than whatever any native solution games offer and the smooth as butter alt-tabbing is a godlike bonus. its a shame that gta v's borderless window is not as good as others when it comes to up-scalling the window size.
