GTA V downloading through steam

Hello everyone,
I recently purchased a rock star GTA V social club key because my friends had the disks for me to use which was convenient because I have limited internet usage. However when downloading the DLC's rock star frequently;y release, the social club launcher is quite frankly diabolical. The download keeps stopping so you have to babysit the download to keep pressing retry and it downloads at 300kb/s maximum. It took me 3 days to download the recent "Executives and other criminals" DLC which was about 1gb (bearing in mind I have school so can only do this at nights). I have linked the game through steam as a non-steam game and wondered if when a new update comes out if ity would be possible to download it through steam like every other game since steam actually works and doesn't randomly stop rather than downloading it through the social club launcher. Thanks in advance!

PS: if you cant do this, is there anyway to fix the social club launcher? I have used ultra surf a few times and a few VPN type software's however these are very unreliable even though they do work sometimes so if anyone knows of a reliable one or a different method it would be very appreciated!!!

No. The game is not activated on your Steam account and launching the game through Steam won't change anything in this situation.

You should submit a ticket to Rockstar and see if they can help you.

Opening it through steam will only open it through steam. Any associated files will still download through the original location. Steam just consolidates the launch button with the rest of your games.
