Hi,

We all know that GTA V has a shitload of weird crashes. But I can't seem to find a solution to my problem.

My problem is the following: When I install the latest driver for my graphics card(Which is 364.72 at this moment) and try to start up GTA V, Social club logs me in, everything normal there. But then when the game needs to start, it gives me a black screen and an error notification saying: "GTA V Has stopped working." I had previously done a workaround to be able to play GTA V. Which was by updating my driver here:https://gyazo.com/fd172ce6530a8dd679cadc6bc14135b4 When doing it this way, my driver is set back to version 353.62 and allows me to start GTA V without any problems. Well yes, starting the game didnt have a problem anymore, but it did come with another problem which I believe is entirely driver-related. To give an example of my problem: I start up GTA V and go onto online. I'm able to play between 5-50 minutes before both of my monitors go black for a second and my fans speed up for a moment, and then my screen comes back to my desktop. GTA V is still in my windows bar but when I click it, nothing happens. But I am still able to move around and I still hear everything that happends. Sometimes it takes 3 minutes before also showing me the error "GTA V has stopped working", and sometimes it doesnt. This has happend on some other games before, but was a one time event. I remember I had the same problem on Just Cause 2 but it was simply solved by turning off something in the in-game settings.

I'm almost certain that this weird crash would be solved by running the latest driver for my GPU, But then I'm unable to start-up my GTA V.

Any help pl0x?

Have you tried out the beta drivers? Inside of Geforce Experience there is an option to opt-in for them. It may or may not fix your issue. Also, Have you checked if you're going over the VRAM in the GTAV options?

I'm well below the max V-Ram, so that shouldn't be the problem. I'll try a beta driver tomorrow.

I installed a beta version of Geforce Experience, which caused my Nvidia Capture service to stop working, but there wasn't any beta driver available for the GPU, so I just installed 364.72 again: https://gyazo.com/70ff61a91cb566a3fcc92477ba4f1ae1

So as I explained, This happends:
https://gyazo.com/8aed1633dd5fe3056aa66470d2cd1696
*Social club starts up/loggs me in*
https://gyazo.com/65a9e9121c5331f06198083e67c0a381
*Social club dissapears as is normal, then GTA V should come up*

*Black screen comes up "Grand Theft Auto V has stopped working" *

Trying to run GTA V in safe mode gives the same result.

So I do my workaround again. Start>Configuration screen> Hardware and sound> Device manager, right click on "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970" and click the option at the top "update drivers". Then I choose for the automatic search for updated drivers and it starts installing.

At device manager, it now says:
Manufacturer: NVIDIA
Date: 22-7-2015
Version: 10.18.13.53.62

GeForce experience:
GeForce Game Readt Driver.
Release date: 29-7-2015, Version 353.62.

And GTA V starts like a charm again.

I've also done a temperature check. GPU doesn't go over 61 Degrees Celcius, CPU doesnt go over 55 C

V-Ram in-game usage is 2780/4095

Try this,
First of all you need to TOTALLY remove all the old drivers. Use this link.
http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/
Note:
Select the respective company(i.e Nvidia or ATI) drivers to be uninstalled.
Use clean and restart option.
And then install the new drivers after rebooting.

Removed all the drivers with the program you provided me with. I ran it in safemode and after installed the latest driver for my GPU. (364.72) GTA V Still crashes on startup.

My old workaround wont work anymore unless I install the older driver. But I'll wait for a solution.

Installed one of the older drivers. Was playing for 20-25 minutes before my game crashed again. still no solution :/
