GTA V: FPS or Resolution

Hi there,

I've been playing GTA V more and more as each day passes. Now I am looking for a new monitor, but the decision is between 4K, or 1440p with 144hz. Now I'm not a gaming enthusiast, but my rig can easily run with either monitor.

though depending on the games you play and the quality you want the graphics at etc easily running either would probably take at least a gtx1080

You sure about that? My rig pushes GTA V at 4k without difficulty but not at a consistent 60FPS. It is great for playing on the 4k television, but for a monitor i feel like you'd notice some lag if you didn't have adaptive sync. Do you have a GTX 1080? Because i think that would be the bare minimum.

1440p @144hz is more realistic, but even then - you're not going to be hitting 140+ FPS consistently, i don't know that you'd notice any lag, but i'd certainly go for a G-sync monitor if i was going 144hz 1440p. Which is already putting you in the $600+ area.

Both of you, really. A single GTX 1080 is capable of pushing GTAV in 4k, and certainly 2k - but not at 60FPS or 144FPS respectively.

I still vote 1440p @ 144hz with Gsync.

yes it can do thats why i said depends how high you want the graphics settings if they want everything maxed out and to maintain 60fps constantly it wouldnt

same for 1440p
