GTA V - Lag spikes - Help!

When I've played GTA V, I normally get 60fps. But today I keep get lag spikes the game goes down to about 14fps and make it unplayable. Whereas yesterday it was fine. The only different is that i've got a new SSD now.

My specs are:
i5-4690k
GTX 960 2gb
8gb RAM

Have you installed any new programs recently? What programs where running in the background at the time of playing? What are your temps on the CPU/GPU/Mobo whilst playing games?

Please could you post a screenshot of Task Manager whilst you're running the game.

Also can you post an image of your graphics settings so I can see if your specs can manage those settings. I have almost identical specs to you, but I have overclocked my CPU to 4.5Ghz and my GPU is also overclocked.

The only thing new i've installed is a new os on my new ssd.
No programs are running.

Do you know what your temperatures are on idle/load?

Please can you post them if you can find out.

Also please try closing all applications other than required applications and then update Steam, restart and try to load GTA 5 again.


Is GTA V on the new SSD? Is the OS that you're using on the new SSD?
