Okay, so I wanted to play GTA V so I went ahead and checked the min specs required, and my specs were good enough for the lowest settings, so I downloaded the game and I just had huge lag spikes every 2 seconds.
specs: (Theyre horrible.)
Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10GHz
4 GB RAM
GeForce GT 740
any help on what to do?
GTA V Min specs:
Radeon HD 4870 or better (GT 740 beats that.)
Phenom X4 9850 / Core 2 Quad Q6600 (i3-2100 3.10GHz) beats that
and 4 GB RAM, which I think is the problem, even tho I do have 4 gb ram, but im willing to buy another 4 GB of ram, if thats the issue.

Oh okay.
Well it was a while ago so I dont remeber where I downloaded it from, but I wanted to check if my pc could handle the game before buying it, that could be the issue...
Btw sorry for voting a -1 on your answer it was an accident, but anyways, is there any legit place I can download it from and not actually buy the game?

And here we have the other reason for that question.

No, there is nowhere legit to "download it from and not actually buy the game"

You have 2 issues.
1. Your system specs, primarily the RAM.

2. Tom's Hardware does not support or condone software piracy.
Buy the game, and some of your issues will go away.

Okay I’ll buy the game, and I also plan to buy another 4 gb of ram, if I will, am I good to play the game?

Okay, thank you so so much.

Software downloaded from "somewhere" is often the problem.

You, and we out here, have no idea what else was included with that download. Stuff sucking up system resources.
For any diagnosis, we all need to start from the same platform. Pirated software could bring all sorts of issues.

And as said above, Tom's Hardware does not assist or support pirated software.
Its like your boss, requiring you to come to work every day, but not paying you for that work.

"Yeah, Berg...we like your work, but we're not going to pay you for it."
You'd quit right then, wouldn't you?

Haha I would.
But yea I won’t download any pirated stuff anymore, should reset my pc tbh, it just has too much important stuff on it, can’t afford to lose it.

Oh don’t worry I scan my pc everyday, there hasn’t been any problems, but it just feels like a reset would clean it up, oh and for the back up, I’ll check it out, will probably do it, thanks again.
