hi there guys. im playing gta v on a i5 750@ 2.67 ghz and a really old but very powerful for its time gpu. on benchmarks im getting up to high 60s in fps however i have the odd bit of stutter. kind of like micro lag. this is fine by me but was just wondering if buying a modern gigabyte 1050ti would be likely to solve it? im assuming my cpu is fine because even though its old its not bottlenecking badly. would a modern gpu such as a 1050ti be the fix?

thanks.

so why am i at such a good fps? and it only happned once for a second.

yeah its a really old one. powerful for its time but old. its a radeon hd 7970. this is why i wonder whether this could be the cause?

Well, this game is poorly optimized for amd gpu's, and possibly might be the issue. Try disabling MSAA, since amd cards never run that well lol. Are you getting lag in other games that are not open world?

no not really. i mean ive not really got much to go off. cod modern warfare 2 seems good apart from one time where i had a mouse stutter and gta 4 ran as well as it was going to considering how poorly optimized it is!
for the record, we are talking one or two occasions where it has had one micro freeze and then just continued. im really ocd about computers!

also when i go into setting there are no options to adjust little things like details in the games in the graphics department. apparently this is because amd doesnt work well with gta v also.

right. yeah i mean they were just bought of steam. cod works pretty solidly and as i said, i get a little ocd about pc performance but yeah gta has no graphics options either. it has stuttered for only a second once or twice.
