GTA4 about time to get this fixed

My specs: C2D e6750, 4gb ddr2 @667mhz, gigabyte 965ds3, 9800GTX+ 512mb, Samsung Sata 400gb, Antec NeoHe 430w

Hey guys, im new to the forum and a daily user on whirlpool forums. They cant seem to give me any answers but im hoping maybe you guys can help me
i have been having trouble with gta iv from day 1. it stutters and crashes which requires a hard reboot, now i switched to windows 7 it stutters then the screen turns black and a "problem has been encountered" dialog comes up. this usually happens in 15mins playing time, also need for speed shift experiences similar crashes.

So far i have done
- bought new 2gb ram
- Memtest86
- Harddrive test for few hours
-prime test on cpu
-nvidia stress test on whole system

My predictions were lack of power from psu? or poor cpu performance. help me out please guys im really confused on this one

Have you updated your drivers? We'd also appreciate if you simply didn't copy-paste your entire message across different forums. At the very least, you could've changed "Whirlpool" into "Tom's Hardware" 😛

GTA4 has been a bad port from the consoles.... Anyway I too have a similar spec (CPU is AMD & GeForce 9600GT) I've winxp sp3 and it works very well! One more thing! Don't use any trainers with GTA 4! I play GTA4 for looooong times and it was working well... But after I started using trainer, it kept crashing every 20 mins or 30 mins.... If you are an avid gamer simply install XP & 7 in dual boot. 😀

Also GTA4 1.0.0.4 official patch has been released.... So install it! Most probs should be gone! 😛 😛
