i had 2 7600GT SLI and upgraded to an 8800GTS.
in the performence test that FEAR has i go 87% above 40 and 13% between 25 and 40. now with the GTS im getting 66% above 40
31% between 25 and 40 nd 3% below 25 FPS..
i already downloded the lates drivers

why the decrease in performance.

also.. in GRAW i can no play in on high... with the 7600 GT SLI it would only let me play medium.
So performence went up in GRAW...
im confused...

2 cards > 1 to put it simply in SOME games. This is DX9 we're talking about here also. Nvidia tweaked their DX9 SLI drivers a lot over the past year so your twin 7600GT's were able to shine in that environment. Maybe fear is all about raw power and core MHZ. I suppose GRAW's performance went up due to the 8800's memory bus width and greater overall texture bandwidth. DX9 cards are hella fast for DX9 apps. Go 8 series when you need to get that DX10 goodness. My solution to you is this : Buy a second 8800GTS =) because thats the only way you will feel satisfied LOL. You'll thank yourself when you get Crysis loaded up on Vista Ultimate Edition.

o i was planning to SLI it...
i had just heard that a single 8800GTS can out perform 2 7600GT's and according to this test that came wiht FEAR.. it doesent

The Geforce 8 series drivers suck right now, and what you're experiencing is the delay from your 8800GTS coming out of a sort of sleep mode into performance mode. When running fraps, if I pause a game such as F.E.A.R. the card begins to idle and tries to save power. When you jump right back into a game, you experience a lower framerate because the card hasn't kicked back into performance mode, and after 10-15 seconds performance will be much higher. This totally screws up benchmarking games like F.E.A.R.

Please don't post again; you have no idea what you're talking about. Two 7600GTs will never be faster than a single 8800GTS in anything.

Yea I too agree this didn't make sense .. :?
I plan to purchase a 8800GTS and that sounded very untrue ..

Dont give advice if you dont have any brains ; MORON

A 8800 gts is faster in benchmarks then 4 of these cards put together .

Why all the bashing, and laughing?

I know how he is right in at least one instance, because Mastershorty87's problems are proof that this can happen.

Geez people be nice.

ooo.. that makes sense

i was begining to think i had a defective product but when i play FEAR and can see the performence boost in explsions and stuff...

The laughing and bashing is there because he is giving really dumb advice.

He is telling a guy who has just spent 300 dollars on a new generation card that 2 last generation piece of crap cards are faster. Give me a break this guy is telling him to go spend a another 300 dollars  .

Please get your facts right before advising people on spending extra cash 😀

Okay 8) .
