Hi all,
just wondering, now when the GTX 1050 is scheduled to appear on the market, I wonder how long we'll wait for the low profile edition :wahoo:
Waiting to upgrade my Lenovo Thinkcentre 😀

Zum Glück! We are waiting for your pics and report, especially regarding 240W PSU (same as in my ThinkCentre m92p) :)

thx man 🙂 psu won't be that problem. just stress tested my actual rig (Zotac GTX 750ti low profile, 2x8GB ECC RAM, Xeon E3-1240v3, 1x SSD + 1 SSHD @ FHD 65" Samsung TV) with furmark + prime95 for 30min. and only got 165W power usage max.
While benchmarking (Firestrike 3dmark) I got 122W max. for the whole system at the combinded test at the end.

Unbelievable. Just a couple of years ago one needed 500W for a quality gaming.

Seems like an old computer it is. Which CPU does it have?

It seems that MSI card is just 1 mm too long... I can fit only 181 mm length card inside my computer. But the obstacle is only on the top of the cooler. And cooler is a bit rounded in the top, so there's still a chance...

Can somebody clarify, if card will fit in the computer, or basically if there is an extra 1mm gap in the top of the cooler - see my drawing here:

You could solve width problem by removing OEM CPU cooler and fitting third-party, slimmer and shorter one (For instance, this or this). As for the length, from the picture it is visible that the DVD bay is the problem. DVD units are so rarely used now, you can remove the whole bay. So you need a little of tweaking, thats all.

It's not the DVD bay that limits my space, card can fit in that place. The problem is in the motherboard power connector - it sticks out a bit to the left and basically I am missing 1 mm. I could cut the cooler to make a gap, but I don't want to loose warranty. But I am maybe safe if the cooler is rounded-enough...

Actual pic could shed some light on your case.

for such a tight fit, we could not guess if it will make it or not. you'll have to find someone with the exact case and gpu and get a first hand experience. otherwise, you'll just have to wing it when it comes in.

something that tight could fit or not depending on lots of factors we can't be sure of from just a pic.

I have taken the picture and marked the ATX connector. Basiclaly current card is 175 mm, there's a gap of 6 mm (in total there is 181 mm), but MSI card needs 182 mm:

True, it's hard, but if somebody could measure once card will arrive, then it could help. On the worst side of things, I could contact MSI support.

the cooler is solid all the way around but it's possible that connection may slip under the chassis. there will be a short gap between the slot and the cooler but not much. at most you may have to nick out a corner of the bottom right of the cooler chassis to let that power lead through.

but the card may not be exactly 182 mm. there are tolerances so you may get one .5 mm short or maybe .5 long. here is a pic of the back of the card so you can see how it may fit with the connector right there

can blow it up better here to see what it looks like http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/msi-offers-msi-gtx-1050-ti-4gt-lp-low-profile-graphics-card.html

The ATX connector starts at 26mm of the card height from the bottom. So it would be interesting which level of height of this card is 26 mm - is it where the rounded edge starts? Can the cooler be pressed half milometer down? Maybe I can remove the top plastic plate leaving the heat sink with fans?

Hi there,i would like to ask do the 182mm includes the L-shape iron plate as your drawing or is the card without the plate 182mm

I would expect that it includes the plate, it's the products dimensions in the specification, so the length should be taken from the most-left point to the most-right point of the physical item. That's how dimensions written for Gigabyte GTX 750 card of mine - I can confirm that. Otherwise it's a big mistake to put dimensions of the physical item.

if any of you guys received the card pls post a photo with measurement on the length, i am planning to get this card but i am not sure if there is enough space for me

Got the card and I was able to get it into my HP Z230 SFF (also tested it on an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF). I only had to cut away that clips (red marked) as they stood away like 1mm. It has a length of 180-181mm, something between that - so that's what you need. It's not including the L shape. In my Case is 182mm space to the connector so it fits perfectly fine like you can see on the foto.

It needs between 155 and 165W @ 10min. Furmark + Prime 95 (@max 83° Celsius) and max. 123W @ Futuremark Benchmark.
My rig as mentioned above - Xeon E3-1240v3, 2x8GB ECC RAM, 2x SSD and 1x SSHD
Doesn't get louder than my last Zotac 750ti LP in idle and even stays more silet under last.

Super satisfied by now!

Hi Romtihus, thank you for a nice and detailed overview. Are you sure that 182 mm is excluding the L shape metal mounting bracket of the card? Without L bracket, my card GTX 750 ti is just 162 mm and basically I can only fit 168 mm length card (excluding L bracket), this would mean that it's NOT impossible to fit MSI card in Dell Optiplex 9010 SFF... This would be very sad... Then I would need to stick with GTX 750 ti, buy an overpriced AMD WX4100 (with equivalent performance to RX 460) or wait for another manufacturer to come up with shorter design.

Hi tarmiricmi, i'm planning to buy this for my Lenovo m82 SFF. My motherboard looks the same as yours. Just in case the graphic card does not fit in mine, how does one move the HDD caddy further right?

Great news for those like me! Gigabyte will release GTX 1050 TI low profile very soon! It is 1-2% faster in clock speeds than MSI low profile card, it will have more output ports (4 vs 3), it is shorter in length (167 vs 181 without L bracket): http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=6178&dl=#kf

Basically it will fit Dell Optiplex 9010 SFF and Lenovo M82 SFF without moving anything.
