The motherboard bios would be the issue, if there was one. An i7 2600k era motherboard may not have a UEFI bios. This can sometimes be a problem. Without knowing more about your specific motherboard it's impossible to say for sure. Otherwise, yes your computer could use a 1050 Ti, and even a 1060 if you can afford it.
