Specs:
CPU: Core i5-6400 2.7GHz
GPU: GTX 1050 TI
RAM: 16 GB
Storage: ~2.5TB

I upgraded from onboard Intel graphics a few months ago to the GTX 1050 TI. I have played:

Arma 3
Bully
Prison Architect
Modern Warfare 3

without any crashes.

However, GTA V, Cities Skylines, and Black Ops 2 has crashed on game startup. I had GTA V refunded, but the game would crash loading in for a few seconds with just sound. Black Ops 2 crashes when starting up, sometimes crashing the PC or presenting an error: "Unhandled Exception Caught"

I have tried verifying, re-downloading, update drivers, etc. I suspect it is the GPU, as I switched from the GTX 1050 GPU connection to onboard and the Black Ops 2 was able to launch.

This might be the PSU unable to handle the GPU at full load, of course it can also be GPU but you would normally see issues with Windows usage as well in that case. Since your system crashes when the GPU wants extra power to run at full speed, but is unable to get this power, which means your PSU is not good enough to handle the GPU.
