GTX 1060 2560×1080 75hz monitor

Just bought an LG 29" Ultrawide 21:9, 75hz monitor to pair it with my GTX 1060 6GB and Ryzen 2600 4.0ghz, 16gb DDR4. i know my pc cant handle 144hz or 1440p. Anyways, do i need an DVI to hit that 75hz? Or do i still use my HDMI??

it depends on the display.. like the LG ultrawide I have you have to use the Displayport cable to get the faster refresh rate..

what model do you have? as it may depend on that. or it may not..

(similar to one I have) the refresh rate of like 75 on that are only if you had an AMD GPU because it needs freesync (nvidia uses gsync).. I think but I am not 100% sure.

it does show that the video signal on Display port and HDMI varies between 56 and 75Hz.
