Hello,

I am currently looking for a new laptop to upgrade my old one. Now i have 2 models in mind.

Model 1
HP Omen 15-dc0096nd
Price: 1250 Euros

Quick overview
CPU: Intel Core i7-8750H
GPU: GeForce GTX 1060 6gb
Screen: 15,6'' 144hz IPS G-Sync 1920*1080
RAM: 16GB
HDD: 256GB SSD + 1tb 7200rpm hdd.

--------
Model 2
BTO X•BOOK 15X884 (dutch laptop) (https://bto.eu/product/bto-x-book-15x884-rtx/)
Price: 1250 Euros

Quick overview

CPU: Intel Core I5-8300H
GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 6gb
Screen: 15,6'' 60hz IPS 1920*1080
RAM: 8GB
HDD: 256GB SSD

Extra upgrades that are possible on the BTO X-Book.
Upgrade to 16gb of ram = 75 euro's.
Upgrade to Intel Core i7-8750H = 100 euro's.
1 TB extra seagate 7200rpm HDD = 65 euro's.
--------

Now i want to use it mainly for some office work and i want it to be a bit futureproof. ( expample : not having it for 2 years and then wanting a new one ). It's not going to be a machine for video-editing/rendering.
But i would like to play some games like World of Warcraft on it while im sitting on the couch. Im not playing any shooters. And i have a desktop upstairs that i am going to upgrade in about 6 months. I have alot of storage on the desktop, so 256GB storage on the laptop is enough.

Now im wondering if i should go with the RTX 2060, since its 60% faster and alot newer than the GTX 1060 and drop G-sync. Or is G-Sync really worth it so i should take an older card with the screen ?
I have also posted some upgrade options that are available on the BTO x-book. I wasn't planning on upgrading it since im looking around the budget of 1250 euros. But if something really makes alot of difference in future proofing, i might consider it.

What are your thoughts on the 2 systems, and what do you recommend ? If there are any other brands/models or suggestions please feel free to submit them.

Thanks in advance!

For your workload, neither the gsync not the 2060 is as important as a better CPU. So, I would either get Model 1, or do that $100 CPU upgrade on Model 2 for more longevity. Unless you plan to play any other graphic intensive game, the 1060 is still sufficient for 1080p.

Think ill go with option 2 with The upgraded CPU. Since my desktop got a 4K screen. Hopefully The rtx 2060 Will handle that much better than The Gtx 1060 ( And my current r9 390 in my desktop)

If leave those 2 laptops without the upgrade options: nr. 1 is the better choice
If you can have some upgrade options e.g. those you posted (proc and RAM), nr. 2 is the better one.
Gaming using the native laptop monitor is not my thing anyway, I prefer to have a bigger external monitor.
