So my GTX 1060 6gb stopped giving any display to the monitor after i restarted my computer because my system was laggy and freezing, after that i was having no display on my monitor so i had to use an alternative GPU (GT 610) just so i can get display, firstoff i have a really old monitor (VH222D) which supports only VGA ports, i used HDMI to VGA cable which used to work but not after the restart, i thought this issue was my monitor since its very old, i tried plugging the computer to my TV which supports only HDMI ports and no display at all, tried reseating GPU or switching PCIE slot didn't work at all, then i reinstalled the OS to see if there could have been a software issue but the GTX 1060 still didnt give any display and just had to use GT 610 for this case

- I have tried a lot of solutions that i know of to fix this issue but i was starting to believe that it is a faulty GPU, before i could establish that it is a faulty Gtx 1060, Can anyone address all of the causes for no GPU display to the monitor so i can comedown and believe that it is a faulty Gtx 1060, i would appreciate it a lot, let me know if more information is needed.
Also is there a software to scan for any errors on a GPU, kinda like MemTest86 or the Windows Memory Diagnostic

what is the power supply your using and age.

gt 610 would draw very little power so it could be a power issue related

My PSU is a Cooler Master RS-460-PCAR-A3 PSU [ http://www.hardwareinsights.com/cooler-master-rs-460-pcar-a3-460w-review/ ]
I also borrowed a Corsair CMP-SU 750TX PSU [ https://www.corsair.com/us/en/p/psu...rX_ukecob_wH7kLBx-vESwfcFq6iO74uuPevF8LCQ7B0w ] Which still did not fix the issue so there is no power related issue

i apologize for the late response

try the 1060 with 1 stick of ram in slot 2 and see if it fires up

lag and freezing are normally memory related. or power

we can take power out of the loop.

i tried what you have said, i have quad channel meaning 4 sticks of 4gb ram, i have tried each of them on slot 2 and 1 and it still doesn't give any display

mmh try a diffrent port on the 1060 see if that port has failed. otherwise it may be a dead 1060
I disassembled the Gtx 1060 and there was a very loose capacitor that was moving around by just moving around the GPU (you could literally blow on it and would still move a little) , we reconnected it back with Soldering iron and tin, assembled it back and the GPU starting giving display to the monitor, ran some stress test and all works pretty fine.

It just goes to show how 1 singular Capacitor can cause all kinds of issues, anyways besides that, thanks for the help you have provided. Have a nice day
