I just installed a GTX 1060 6GB to replace my GTX 750 TI and I feel like I am not getting a very good performance increase. In Battlefield 1 I can't get over 40 FPS on Medium-high settings.
I have done a clean driver install as well for the gpu.
These are my full specs:
GTX 1060
FX 8300
12 GB RAM

Sorry to hear. Well, then you will have to put up with your system bottle neck for a while then. $150 could solve your problem, ey.
The GTX 1060 does well in BF1. I had one in a test system for a friend a while back...
Those all seem in order. FYI: 8GB RAM of DDR3 1600 mhz should still do the trick with BF1, contrary to other opinions. This lad did some tests for us. ref: http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/2677-bf1-ram-benchmark-frequency-8gb-enough/page-2

Has the defaults reset given you any difference yet? Also remember to adjust the resolution scale to 100% and disable ambient occlusion inside the game.

You should know that BF1 is less GPU intensive than BF4, but more CPU intensive. The FX 8300 has been known to hold back newer GPUs in certain cases. ref: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BL1pmI0QN5I

You have such a shiny new card. Perhaps you should consider a platform upgrade as well. Even the cheapest i5 or i7 Ivy bridge CPU will crush the 8300's performance. Maybe peruse craigslist a bit? Ref: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-hierarchy,4312.html

You can re-use the RAM

I cannot upgrade to an Intel CPU at this time. I'm sure an FX 8300 should be fine for BF1 since it has good multicore performance. I seriously thought that upgrading to a 1060 would've yielded way a better performance increase from the 750 ti. But it seems like nothing has changed. The restore defaults thing didn't help either.
