This averages a lot of games:

*Thus roughly 2X the FPS (or better graphics at same FPS, or mixture of these).
Your CPU will also affect the performance values depending on the game. If it's a modern i5/i7 or similar to an i5-6500 or better your results will be close.

When is 60FPS not 60FPS?
A lot of games show 60FPS on a 60Hz monitor (using VSYNC) but may not be as smooth as you might think they should be. Chances are a better video card will give a much smoother experience.
Huh?
FRAPS and similar tools record the "FPS" value by intercepting a call from the game itself. This data then goes into the game API (i.e. DX11), then the video driver, then gets rendered by the GPU, and finally is drawn on the monitor.
You may lose frames, or other things may happen which affect the smoothness of the game so this metric is not the best indicator of game performance.
If that went "woosh" over your head then just know that if you play a game now that doesn't appear really smooth, a better video card will likely help.
