GTX 1070 Best cooling version

Hello,im gonna buying 1070,and i want to know which one has best cooling,i was interested in gainward cuz it has best specs,but one guy told me it has terrible cooling,so i want to know which one has best cooling and which one has best specs

i would say the EVGA GTX 1070 ACX 3.0 has the best cooler.

All of the GTX 1070s will perform the same regardless of the board partner. MSI has the best cooler but only by about 1-2 degrees C and 1-2 dB, I would not consider that significant so purchase the one that you think looks best or is cheapest or if you have a brand loyalty then go with that brand. For example, I purchase an ASUS GTX 1070 because my motherboard is an ASUS brand.

While playing The Witcher 3 which utilizes about 70-80% of the GPU with V-Sync enabled the temperatures never rise above 70 degrees C in my Fractal Design R5 which does not have the best airflow. It is barely audible when I remove my headphones and I cannot hear a thing when I wear my headphones. Keep in mind the R5 is built for silence so it may be a smidge louder in a non silence focused case. The fan speeds never rise above 50% so it's pretty darn quiet.

msi seahawk x...you want the best cooling, you go with water...not sure if there are any news about the evga 1070 hybrid, but the seahawk x is already on the market

@Warmacblu : can I ask you to do a test for me? record the noise with android free app noise meter (adding digital filter db(A) in options. Please do 3 tests: 1 idle 2. the witcher 3 as you stated above and 3. 100% fan if possible. With the phone on the case. I would really apreaciate this and could potentially drive me into buying the strix. Thank you!

According to this review, the Asus Strix (68c) had the lowest load temperature out of 8 cards tested. The MSI SeaHawk was not tested, but that would obviously have the best cooling (although reference PCB and components).

That chart is pretty much dead on. My card reaches 68 C while gaming. I'm not sure about the dB rating but 33 dB is virtually silent.

I believe the eVGA card is also the hottest with the slowest clocks. I could probably cap the fan speed on my STRIX to 40% instead of 50% and achieve the eVGA dB rating.

Really interesting. Let see this way: We could make a custom curve on strix that let the card go to 73 degrees. maybe then strix will also have 29 db. or lower. or higher. Important thing would be to compare the default curve with noise/temp ratio but also some standard rpm for all cards: 40%, 50%, 75% 100% rpm with noise/temp ratio. Than we could really understand how good is every cooling system.

Here are some measurements:

Idle room = 31 dB

50% fan speed = 34 dB (+3dB over idle)

60% fan speed = 37 dB (+6dB over idle) - I took this measurement because it is the highest I have seen the fan go but it typically runs below 50% and averages at 45%.

100% fan speed = 50 dB (+19 dB over idle)

This is the stock fan curve and I've never seen the GPU go above 68 degrees C while playing The Witcher 3.
