Hi everyone! I just bought new DUAL-GTX1070-O8G and Corsair CX750 putted everything in and my pc dont see graphic card. Drivers dont see it too, thats why i can't install tham... Dont know what to do ;(((( I have latest windows version and downloaded latest drivers, doesnt help. Is there possobility that its becouse of motherboard?

Solution

Shut down PC, disconnect VGA from motherboard. Turn it back on again.

On some pcs if you connect a monitor to the motherboard, it will disable the graphics card and default to on board graphics .

Yes i have connected hdmi to card and connected vga to motherboard. Problem is that i can't install drivers and my pc dont see graphic card ;(

a lot of prebuilt models may not accept aftermarket cards [600 series and up in NVidia ] or will need a bios update in order to do so but don't get your hopes up .

some models of store bought computers [dell.hp,acer,ect..] may come with a ''locked or fixed'' bios and may not allow you to change certain hardware as a video card.. this is done to protect them from undue warranty claims and refunds .this is not done to hurt you but to protect them. you really need to see if that upgrade has been proven to work in your model first before you invest money in it .. there are a lot of these threads here at toms to look at some models will allow upgrades and some dont.. and a lot of guys here say ya ya ya when is really no no no...it would be sad you spent $200 on a card that wount post after you installed it as most find out. then get told its your psu and you spend more and end up right back where you are now, but its up to you good luck..

you got to know the the boards in these computers are not like the ones we use to do custom builds witch are open to upgrading with in the boards compatibly . the bios is custom made for there design and just for the parts they authorize to be used on there computers there only guaranteed to work as is out of the box as you bought it ,..

also these boards do not have to meet atx standards and there pci-e slot power may not do the required 75w needed for most higher end cards and can be limited to say 45 or 60w that is all thats needed with the low end factory oem cards that it may of shipped with

''Graphics Card Power (W) : 60 W''

so with that the board pci-e slot may be limited to a 60w card at best that 1070 will need the full atx spec. of 75w ??

good luck

Seeing issues with most of the lenovo boards not supporting the gtx 1*** series cards
Worked fine with the maxwells 960/970/980 but may require the BIOS updating for the newer cards.

Do not hold your breath on lenovo releasing new bios updates for older boards though , its probably not going to happen

So I need new motherboard?

well if you see leveno says the board has a 60w limit on the pci-e slot that card needs the full 75w atx standard spec. ? then you see nothing over a 600 series is recommended supported [bios limitation]

just keep trying out any help tips you get and good luck with any of them

you see this issue a llot on some models of hp dell and others .

them companies sell whole computers and not too worried about you upgrading them that's not how they make money ,

all the guarantee to work is as you bought it new out of the box from them with what they put on it , not a drop more

anything you do over that is all your own risk

Come on, your posts are hard enough to read without you repeating your self.

at least I know what I'm talking about , and see it everyday

sorry the truth hurts

first the board don't power the card at the slot level and all the psu in the world don't overcome that

then the bios is not supporting any newer cards ? he just going to find hes SOL

''The thing with using Lenovo Parts only is that Some system board are only meant to work with the Parts allowed for it.

like for you system, this is the part list''

then

For the GPU No, Some users that tried replacing GPU that are not listed in the Maintenance Manual were not able to make it work. Some Users said that some parts that are not listed worked fine

out side of what leveno specs is all your own risk

you buy, you try , and hope it don't make you cry

not hard to understand any of that is it ??

Yep, they didn't list a whole lot of "acceptable" GPUs on their list (https://download.lenovo.com/consumer/desktop_pub/lenovo_h530_hmm_20130807.pdf).

Some people have been potentially successful by replacing the proprietary PSU & fiddling with the BIOS (https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-E-H-K-M-Q-Y-and-ErazerX/H530-Adding-a-Graphics-Card/td-p/1614544, related article: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-E-H-K-M-Q-Y-and-ErazerX/Black-screen-after-adding-graphics-card-to-H530/m-p/1544972; similar issue, https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-E-H-K-M-Q-Y-and-ErazerX/Lenovo-H50-55-Upgrade-Graphics-card/m-p/3326193). Note that I'd say the biggest issue you'r facing is going to be the PSU. A sub-300W PSU, especially a proprietary OEM model pre-installed in an OEM machine, is not going to be enough to handle a GTX 1070.

That leaves you with a couple of choices:
1. Return the GTX 1070, & get one of the new GTX 1050 models (not the 1050 Ti). They only draw power from the PCIe slot, so even though they aren't on the "officially supported" list there's a good chance it'll work out of the box (may or may not require some BIOS fiddling).

2. Get a better PSU (550W Gold-rated minimum). Also check to see if you need a PSU adapter (i.e. 20/24-pin to 14-pin). Again, that should take care of any power issues, & with a minimum of fiddling should help.
