GTX 1070 not working in Gen2 or Gen3

Hi everyone,

I just bought a GTX 1070 and got everything installed. The problem is that if my PCIe slot is set to anything other than Gen1, I get nothing on the display. Gen1 works without issue. Has anyone seen this issue before, or have any ideas on what the issue might be? I checked the motherboard for a bios update through the UEFI, and it said I had the most recent version.

Motherboard: ASRock x99 Extreme4
CPU: Intel Core i7 5820k @4.2GHz
GPU: Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070
16GB DDR4 RAM

you need to delete the current graphicard drivers, plug the hdmi cable into your motherboard and install the new grpahicscard drivers

While in Gen 1 uninstall grpahics drivers and install the newest ones using geforce experience.

OP does not have a hdmi port on MoBo btw

.... Then set to Gen 3 and see if this fixes it.

Thanks for the help. Sadly, reinstalling drivers did not help. ASRock is going to RMA the board, so hopefully the new one will work.
