Gtx 1070 oc edition vs 1070ti

Hello
Recently my gpu died and I decided to save and buy a new gpu , a gtx 1070 . The price difference between the 1070ti and 1070 oc is 6dollars,which gpu is a better option?and is the 6 $ costlier 1070ti worth it ? I’ll be pairing it with i5 6600k but will very updating soon enough To a newer hen processor.

Yes, the 1070Ti is quite a bit faster.

No 1070 no matter how highly overclocked will ever ever match a 1070ti.

The ti has extra cuda cores,on a hardware spec level it's closer to a 1080.

$6 more , hell yeah,absolutely worth it.

Is the 1070 ti overclockable? Because someone’ told me the
Boost clock of 1070 ti is 1683(gaming mode)and 1759 (oc mode)
Boost clock of 1070 oc is 1860(oc mode )
1835 (gaming mode).
Also is there a difference in gaming oc and normal oc (plz help I am a complete newbie here) just want a card which will last Long and have a better performance inclinced toward some 1070ti but performance of 1070 oc seems good . Plz help .

Yes, it is overclockable, and Pascal is very easy to overclock. Per Nvidia though all 1070Ti ship with the same clock speed so as not to compete directly with GTX1080 sales.

A factory overclock. Which Nvidia forbade on the 1070Ti.

Even with an inferior cooler, etc, the 1070Ti has more raw computing power than a 1070. It is the way to go regardless of anything else.

So the 6$ is worth for the TI right? The computing power,cuda cores? And wat is the difference in the speeds? Should be same right? If so then I’ll go for the Ti

The ti is just plain stronger full stop.

Thank you all for you’r help but recently updated prices show that a msi gtx 1080 gaming x is for 750$ And 1070ti is 793$ And a msi armor is worth 745$.ill be picking up the 1080 gaming x over the armor as it’s slightly better . Any suggestions on this would be helpful and the admin may close this thread
