GTX 1070 ROG STRIX crashing

So, I don't know what's happened here tbh, I have a GTX 1070 STRIX, bought it second hand and it ran fine for about 3 months, about a week ago I was playing DOOM, nothing crazy or stressful for the card really and it just crashed. I have tried to restore my computer and stuff with no luck. I have put it into a mates PC and it ran no problems and have also had it running fine on Linux. I completely stumped as to what is wrong with it. I am thinking that maybe it was a windows update or something clashing with the driver or malware but...I don't know.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600
8GB Hyper-X RAM
B350 PC-MATE MOBO
250GB WD SSD
1TB WD HDD
GTX 1070 ROG STRIX 8GB Factory OC
850W Corsair PSU

Does it boot into safe mode?

No, it will only run with it installed if I disable driver signature enforcement anything else is pretty much impossible, the default windows driver is fine but the moment the NVIDIA driver is installed it won't run
