GTX 1070 sli not 99% usage at 1440p

Please note at 4k I get 99% usage in most games.

New monitor is gsync 1440p I only get 95 to 96% usage. Any ideas.

What game? Typically the reason a GPU doesn't reach 99% is something is bottlenecking/holding it back. V-sync can do that. Some games are a CPU bound, especially in multiplayer. I doubt you see 95-96% all the time, if you do, it's likely the monitoring software's error, as no game is that consistent if below 99%.

try to increase power target of gpus in an OC program. maybe they get too hot and throttle. also try to monitor their temps. maybe cooling is not good enough.

95-96 percent usage sounds perfectly fine to me.

You don't exactly always want the GPU to be working at 99-100 percent power, you are right on the edge, and performance issues will very likely become a problem in scenes that are quite demanding.

It also comes down to the game itself aswell, some games will play alot better with SLI and some games might not even take advantage of the 2nd GPU at all.

And finally, I kinda feel that 4K is probably a bit too much for two 1070's, sure it's probably playable on lower settings but performance is surely a bit of an issue. even the new 1080 Ti, performance is only just starting to become what I would consider 'playable'.

Do you have V-sync on?
What are you using to monitor usage?
Does it vary from 95-96%?

No v-sync I am getting 150-200fps.

Cards are not throttling.

You aren't answering my questions, but assuming the usage is staying rather fixed at 95%, then don't worry about it. If you are using MSI Afterburner, you do have to reinstall it after a new GPU install.
