GTX 1070 Strix won't fit

I have been trying to fit my gtx 1070 strix into the pcie slot, but it just isn't clicking in. The motherboard is an Asus TUF z390 plus gaming (wifi). Can anyone help me?

you aren't the only one to feel this way. trust me it will fit, you need to line the card up and slide it in. don't force it but be deliberate

I've tried for 2 hours, but it still hasn't gone in. I'm pretty sure I lined it up correctly.
