Was going to buy GTX 1080 to be paired with core i5 8400 for my first gaming PC, but i have seen some benchmarks and videos between 1080 and 1070 ti, then i found that 1080 is better but not much difference, however, 1080 is much expensive, So just wanted to ask, is 1070 ti good choice to go with to save budget and get nice performance at the same time ??

Monitor expected to buy is 1080p with 60Hz refresh rate, and 1ms response time.

ALSO want to ask: does RTX 2070 worth waiting for or 1070 ti is fine to go with right now??

Those are some comparisons i got from game debate regarding new upcoming GPUs compared to current ones within my budget (not sure if my budget will allow for RTX 2070):

So guys i hope for some help to get the best choice :)

Game debate is not a site you should use to compare anything. They just post the specs of the cards there but don't do any tests. I could compare the highest end card from 2008 against a gtx 970 and because that 2008 card has a higher clockspeed game debate would say it's better when in reality it's far far worse.

The difference between the 1070 ti and 1080 is small indeed and you can reach 1080 level of performance by overclocking. However you can also overclock a 1080. The real question is are you willing the pay the price difference for the 1080 or not? If the difference is more than 100$ it's really not worth it unless the games or settings you want to play at would need the 1080.

Solution
Yeah the difference between both 1070 ti and 1080 is 100$ currently in my country + actually i don't have the extra 100$, however even if i have, i think it doesn't matter, already made my choice, so first of all i will wait for new upcoming GPUs and check them, if i couldn't afford then 1070 ti is my way to go.

Thanks guys :)

V-Sync = ON for fixed 60 fps, sorry but monitors prices are pretty expensive in my country, that monitor is the only one i can afford, it's Samsung S24D330H.

Ok fair enough.

Couple of ways you can deal with vsync input lag if it bothers you.

1. Fast sync found in the Vsync drop down list

2. Use Nvidia Inspector, RivaTuner or Msi Afterburner to limit fps to 59 and with this enable vsync.

That was so helpful info, thanks so much :)

RTX 2080 should be released this month, and next month for 2070, that's what NVIDIA announced.

Whatever, 1070 ti still my way to go if 20xx will come late 😀 😀 but it should get cheaper by the time.
