Am getting my new setup in August I know that is a long way to go. But I have been digging and searchimg about GPU's. Am getting the GTX 1080 for my setup to play games at 1080P High settinge 60+ FPS (Just want to play games at 60 FPS). Since the new Nvidia Nvidia 1180's or 2080's are coming. How long can the GTX 1080 last for me at high settings 60 FPS P.S I can add a few 200$ to the GPU.

Solution
Games are advancing every day soo its hard to tell, but from my perspective. Usually higher/top tier GPU's can up to 6 years without getting perfomance issue, example was 400/500/600 series which wont get any updates anymore for optimization.
GTX 780Ti can still play 60+ fps games without issue at all.

If you are going to buy GPU now 1080 for example, if 1180 comes out 1080 prices will drop down, soo its either buy 1080 when 1180 comes out or buy 1180 when it comes out, its a bit twist turn here.

1070 is enough for 1080p high refresh gaming.
You do not need a 1080 for 60hz. 1060 6gb will be all you will need.

To answer your first question: if this is about the actual hardware, then yes, much longer than 4 years... but on the subject of graphics power, it depends on the game in question, but 4 years is pushing it. I did 5 years on a 680... it still worked, but high settings on newer titles wasn't happening.

Thank you guys I think I'll just wait for the 1180 or 2080 series to come out, I'm getting myself a i7-8700K so do you guys think the new GPU's will bottleneck with this CPU? And when will those GPU's release? I can wait till August or September.

I thought Nvidia wasn't in a hurry to release new cards... they're trying to get rid of their current stock of 10-series cards as is.
Because the moment they launch the new ones, the used market will be flooded with cards that were bought up by cryptocurrency miners - condition: poor. And chances are, the new cards will be jacked up too.
