Afternoon everyone. Iv got a GTX 1080 that iv been running for a awhile now . My pc specs are as follows.
Ryzen 5 5600x - Slight over clock
GTX 1080 - Slight overclock nothing crazy 100mhz over
16GB DDR4 3600 mhz
250gb nvme drive for main storage
2 TB HDD 7200 HD Storage for gaming
Spectrum 900mb service
Phantecs Full size case with 2-Front 140mm intake fans and 1 rear 140mm fan
Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler 2-140mm fans on the the stacks
32" 165 hz 1440P monitor
Iv never really had issues with 1080p gaming and some 1440p gaming, but now iv been playing COD MW2 quite a bit. Iv noticed when i go into multiplayer no matter what settings i put up 1080P low high balanced and the same with 1440P in the beginning it stutters pretty bad and is almost impossible to play. Id say a couple mins in then that stuttering/lag goes away. Every so often it will come back then go away. I recently have noticed a little bit of artifact going on around say the scope of the gun im using and random places on the map. Checked the GPU temp and under load highest i saw was 53C and at idle depending on conditions right around 30C. Cpu at idle is around 30C also and stress tested maxes at around 73C. Anyone think my GPU is the cause of this?? Doesnt really happen much which other games. Im looking to get another 2gig nvme or SSD and swap the games from the HDD to that. Any suggestions? Also eventually looking to upgrade the GPU and with my current setup what GPU do you think would work out the best? Just dont want to bottle neck it with my current CPU setup. Was looking at a 3070 or 3080 or if i find a good price on a 6800xt or 6900xt. What do you guys think?
