gtx 1080 or 1070 for 4-5 years ?

whitch one to choose for the future, 5 year or so, 1080 or 1070?
i have weak cpu (i5-3570s) but im going to upgrade it about half a year or so.
gtx 1080 costs 100 euros more than 1070, and im not planning to upgrade gpu about at least 5 years after this.

If you get the 1080, your CPU will be a bottleneck until replaced. However, if you plan on being able to use this GPU for gaming for 5+ years, I would go with the 1080 simply because it is more powerful and likely to perform well for years to come.

True, that may be the better option if budget is a challenge.

Do not look out more than a year or so.
You may find that your needs change.
You might go 4k monitor, or VR.

Buy what you need today...today.
If, in the future, you need something much stronger, sell what you have in favor of what you need.
PC parts get more capable per dollar over time.
I might think that even a GTX1060 would game well at 1080P.
If you favor fast action games, perhaps a GTX1070.

If you don't plan on upgrading for around 5 years the GTX 1080 would be the best choice.

Well think of it like this.

The faster card will have longer legs in the future as far as gaming goes.

The high end cards will be mid range performance and the mid range cards will be low end.

4 to 5 years down the road.

You should be able to find good prices on used LGA 1155 I7's without much of a problem.

I suggest saving up to do a full CPU and GPU upgrade along with DDR4 ram.. depending on what mobo you got, you might need to do an upgrade for that too. And U strongly believe that your CPU will bottleneck with the 1070 as well. What game do you usually play?

That's like a GTX 1070, but it's a real power hog so you may needed a new PSU to run it.

Yes i think 1070 will bottleneck too.
Plaing watch dogs 2, gta 5, Bf 1, cod, forza 3 and so on.

You can get them for around $120 US.
