Hi all,

I have a new problem with my GTX 1080 graphics, for it to power up I have to fiddle with the 8 pin connector, for windiws to detect I have fiddle with until the white light shows, this only happens if the 8 pin is only half way on or just slight inside the connector. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks

Solution
this only happens if the 8 pin is only half way on or just slight inside the connector.
you mean the cable isn't long enough to completely reach the power connector?

or you mean it will only power on while barely inserted?
Any idea how I can fix this?
try a different cable.

i would be very wary of using it this way.
causing a short or other damage to the GPU, the PSU, or anything else connected to the PSU is always a possibility.

if it is the connector on the GPU causing the issue;
return it if still in warranty.
if not, sell it "as is" while the market's still in your favor.

I have tried several cables, there not too short, it's if I push the cable 8 pin connector all the way in to the gpu 8 pin socket, it won't power up, if I push it in until the white shows and keep it there it works. It's a second hard gpu.
