Hello,

When I play GTA V for example then my FPS drops sometimes from 60 to 40 (I have V-sync enabled) just by flying is this normal? I also have a picture I have 32 GB of DDR4 ram and an I7 -7700K not overclocked and a GTX 1080TI MSI Gaming X. My computer also freezes sometimes when I play Roblox then it disconnect my headset and connects it again I hope someone can help me with this!

I'd suggest using something like HWMon/Info. Run it in the back round whilst gaming (or whenever you're experiencing the drops) and alt-tab from the game to HWmon. Then take a screenshot and post it. We can look at usage, temps, voltage etc as your experiencing the issues and better advise.

Also, GTA V is notorious for frame drops. It's poorly optimised for high end hardware which should be capable of driving it with ease.

Turning down in game settings may help. If you're running everything on Ultra/Very high, then dial some stuff back, and see if it makes a difference for the min frame rates. Things like Grass effects, Shadows etc. Try changing the AA/AF settings lower too, along with water reflections.

Also, make sure you haven't changed anything in the Nvidia Global settings, which are counteracting with in game settings. So for example, in global settings make sure you have adaptive V-sync off, specially if you have V-sync enabled from the game menu.

I'd go with this process:

1. Reset Nvidia Global Settings to default.
2. Do not apply any game specific profiles from the Nvidia Control Panel.
3. Try enable V-sync on/off to see if any difference.
4. Dumb down the in game settings. If on Ultra, drop a level, but keeping in mind the resource intensive options outlined above - and toggle them on/off to see if the min FPS increase, and you don't experience such large drops in FPS.

Let me know how you get on!

edit: If you use Geforce Experience, well....don't. Even after many updates, I find it's a piece of tripe, and has the ability to turn a very playable game into a horrible experience. The optimisations, at least in my experience make game-play so much worse. This is just IMO. To get the best balance of FPS and eye candy, I'd always recommend tricking around with the setting manually as opposed to some pre-config that destroys the gaming experience.

This is how it looks when I play Roblox with stuff open in the background (I experience freezing mostly when I talk on DIscord with friends and sometimes if I screenshare)

I see nothing out of the ordinary from the screenshots. You have good temps, ample resources at least for Roblox. You GPU playing that game is not being pushed in the slightest.

Post the same screenie's whilst playing GTA V, it will help more.

Take V-sync off, and let the GPU push out the FPS at max, see if the GPU usage goes up to 99-100%. Also look at the CPU usage. For GTA V, i'd expect pretty much 90-100% GPU usage (vsync off) and pretty much 80-100 CPU usage, specially if you are using Discord, and/or Screensharing, which might have an impact on the gaming.

Follow the point above, run the game and nothing else in the backround, you can run HWMon though, and see if there's a difference. Also, You have a 7700k, if you have a Z270 mobo, you can OC that chip, which will help with higher minimum FPS, and negate the drops in FPS.

Also, your monitor res has a big part to play here. What are you playing at? 1080p/1440p/higher?

List your full specs, including monitor, PSU, Mobo (make and model), Ram type (make and model) etc.

From a HW point of view, I don't see anything wrong at all. Everything looks as it should do. CPU usage, temps, voltage and the same for the GPU.

For me the issues your mainly having are software related. So driver changes, global settings, in game settings. These are the things you need to look at for better results.

Have you another demanding games? Something like a newr FPS title you could compare results with.

On your last point, about the headset and PC freezing, this is most likely a driver issue or hardware conflict. make sure you have the most up to date drivers for GPU, chipset, lan, sound etc. Get these from the motherboard manufacturers website. Do a fresh/clean install of the Nvidia Drivers.
