So, here's my question... I'm just about to purchase some new monitors, 3 to be precise. I want to run a triple setup and be able to use Nvidea Surround for gaming too. I also want to have TV mounted above so i have the option to watch films/play games etc.

All 3 monitors are HDMI and the TV is also HDMI. GTX 1080 only has 1 HDMI output, so I was going to use that for the TV and use 3 displayport to HDMI cables for the 3 monitors.

Will this work reliably? I've heard that you can only use up to 2 monitors with passive DP to HDMI cables, so do I just need 1 active adapter for the 3rd surround monitor?

Just joined the community... Hope you guys can help! Thanks

I don't see why you shouldn't just be able to purchase 3 DP -> HDMI adapters for the monitors, but if you do not want to deal with adapters then i would always suggest buying monitors that support DP.
