I currently own a HP Pavilion 500-513d and ive just upgraded my cpu to an i5 4690 (non k). Does a GTX 1660 Ti runs on this unit without updating the bios? BTW if it does work i am going to upgrade the PSU also to a 600w true rated. Bios is AMI v80.05.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

The BIOS shouldn't hold you back since you're on a H87 chipset board. I'd advise that you make sure you're on the latest BIOS version. Also, please invest in a reliably built PSU that can output at least 450W of power to the entire system. Picking up a Seasonic M12II 620W unit would do good for the long run.

So in that order, BIOS update>PSU purchase>GPU drop in. Use DDU to uninstall your current GPU drivers prior to dropping the GTX1660Ti in the system.
