Hello there!
I just got a used 550 ti to install on my good old computer.

Problem is my psu doesn't have a 6 pin connector needed.
I'll update the full specs later but it's 500W and its +12v indicates 22 Amps.

My question is - will it suffice practically? (I dont wanna ignore the recommended specs but im interested to know the practical minimum)

I'm wanna plug dual molex to the 6 pin and I kinda have nothing to lose cause both computer and gpu were about to get thrown away. I do believe though theyre in a good shape and can take another year or so.

My only other option is a psu i got whose fan doesn't spin... im afraid its gonna blow up or something

Pretty much says it all if the psu does not have a 6pin its not a good quality brand and even if you could get it to work with molex it is not worth it, as the psu is low quality.

yes it will work and 500w is enough not that i think the psu can even output 400w but if you are not afraid of it killing the card then yes it will work

Look i know its been done before and even that the gpu is shipped with the adapter. The question is can 22 amps suffice? (Recommended is 24? Couldn't find a source for that though)
