GTX 550 Ti power supply recommendations

building a system with a i5 2500K and a GTX 550 Ti. Not doing any over clocking...

What size power supply should I get, any recommendations????

For a system with a single GeForce GTX 550 Ti NVIDIA recommends a minimum of a 400 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum +12 Volt continuous current rating of 24 Amps or greater and with at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.

Select from reputable name brands like Antec, Corsair, Seasonic and XFX and you will be ensured that the all important +12 Volt continuous current rating requirement is met.

So 500 is good or do I need 600? Again, not over clocking, not add another video card, not a gamer machine... THANKS!!!!

500 Watts is fine only if the power supply's +12 Volt continuous current rating is 24 Amps or greater.

Don't be so focused on the power supply's wattage. Meeting the minimum +12 Volt continuous current rating is much more important because if it is not met the CPU and graphics card won't function properly no matter how high the power supply's wattage is.

That's a fine choice.

That power supply unit will even handle a system with two GeForce GTX 550 Ti graphics cards in 2-way SLI mode.
