i have many friends from gaming around the world and often run into people from Denmark or AU and looking at some of there prices. a comp i helped a friend with a few months ago had a 110.00 difference between a 2500 and a 2500K i5.

if you want a dual purpos machine i would go nvidia however its worth noting that if your main purpose is such work then there are rendering cards you should use instead of any main stream gaming card. both ati and nvidia make such cards, i have found nvidia cards to be more compatible with more pieces of software however both are strong renderer's.

I suggest that you wear your glasses first mr veteran and read repeatedly what im said and my point is before u post your negative comment ! , i mention gtx 580 earlier, is not that I recommend to buy the GTX 580, but just to suport my point that by spending about $280 he can have about same performance as gtx 580. compared with spending $210 for 560ti that can't be considered low price, just add $70 you can gain performance far above a 560ti even close to gtx 580 that far more expensive! understand my point now mr veteran?

dalauder's "IVY BRIDGE is made by Intel, not NVidia or AMD so it probably won't directly affect graphics cards"

since when if the cpu does not affect the performance of vga? try use dual core vs quad core with the same vga setup if the result exactly like what you said i give you my ears! wuakakak thats very funny statement from someone who wrote and analyse like an expert.

The cpu does effect the performance of your gpu. Such as if you had a gtx 580 and a pentium 4, the 580 would be bottlenecked by the cpu.
