hello all, i have a gtx570 (msi version). i recently got crysis 3 and the game crashed over and over. i narrowed it down to my video card. the stock clocks are 988mV (.988v) core clock 732MHz and memory clock 1900MHz. after much research i found many people get crashes due to low voltage. i did not want to change voltages so i lowered the core clock speed to 700 and BAM played the game 6 hours with no issues. next i decided to try to get the MSI factory 750 core clock speed back by adjusting the voltage. when i launched the game it froze after 10sec or so with a buzzing sound. i kept increasing the voltage hoping it would work and i got to 1.05v before i gave up on 750. everyone in forums online was 800+ with 1.05v so i have an issue. next i tried to leave the 1.05v and put the core clock back to 700 (as it worked before) this time it locked up again with the buzzing after seconds. the temps were about 60c when lockups happened. how could more voltage cause the card to lock up at the slower speed? i reverted back to the ONLY working setting and game plays. what is my issue here ? why cant i even attain factory clock speeds? also i did use gpu-z to verify values were correct.
