Hello everyone, i have read many threads about overclocking a gtx 570 and so i tried some "Specs" that people were using, well every time i change the core, memory clocks and run the msi kombustor or furmark my pc just shut down as if i pressed the power button for a bit.
I will just mention my build here to see if any of these helps:
So here i go:
i5 750 @2.67Ghz not oveclocked
Corsair Vengeance 2x4gb @1600Mhz -running at 1333@mhz due to my 1st gen cpu need to be oced to get the 1600hmz
-1ssd
-1hdd
-Msi gtx570 TwinFrozr ii
an 650w power supply
an msi p55m-gd45 mobo
and thats all i think

***
also just wanted to notice that everytime i play a game i change tha gpu core voltage from 988mv to 1038mv because after 5mins or 10 of heavy gpu games i got the message nvidia driver has stopped working with the stock voltage

Solution
You can try going up +5-10MHz without changing the voltages but if you still get crashes that would mean that you graphics card cannot go any higher.

If that is the case I would leave it alone and upgrade the gpu when possible if you want to run games at higher fps.
You need to overclock in smaller increments (voltages and clock speeds) until the issue no longer occurs. If the issue occurs no matter how low the overclock then you are simply not able to on that setup.

Which components are likely to cause this issue? The graphics card is likely already overclocked and or power supply is made of low quality components (depending on the maker of the PSU).

My graphics card i found out that its a reference model. Well my psu isnt that great yeah, but i wonder if its capable of handling the increased voltage for hours of gaming or stress testing then why does it crash immediatly after the slightest clock increase?
