Question Upgrading Ryzen CPU, and question about motherboard TPM ?

Looking to upgrade my dad's desktop to windows 11, currently running windows 10. According to the windows pc health check, the cpu he is running is not on the windows 11 supported list. He is running an AMD ryzen 5 2400g along with Asrock B450m rev 4.0 motherboard. Looks like I have plenty of upgrade options for cpu that is supported for both motherboard and windows 11, was looking at the 5600g.

His motherboard does have tpm, it is already enabled in bios. But how do I know for sure if it is tpm 2.0 or not? Would the tpm option in bios actually say tpm 2.0 if it is tpm 2.0?

Yes, that is what I did. I started the install while logged into the system already. You probably could just download the iso and install it that way too. I did USB, because I planned on using it for other systems too, and it is good to have in case I need to do a reformat later.

Yes if you use option "In place upgrade". That works only if your W10 is still able to run, so you can download W11 24H2 ISO from MS, mount it and run setup.exe from iSO mounted as virtual disk. If you boot from W11 USB, you don't get to keep files and settings. That's a brand new installation so backup your files first.
Ps. It helps if you have MS account and your windows are activated that way. It will transfer your license as soon as you log in. W10 and W11 licenses are virtually same.

I got windows 11 installed. It showed up as an upgrade in the windows update page. No issues. Ty all for the help.
