An i7-920 even at stock speeds wouldn't bottleneck ANYTHING except maybe 2 6990's or 2 gtx 590's LOL
You are dead right mkchampion1. dont know why people are obsessed with OC cpu, Gpu, and Ram. I too have 920 @ stock. Yes some games like high clocks but in real life gaming observation u will not notice an atom change except when running applications. but at stock 920 will not bottleneck at least 5970 and 580 GPU. With my Zotac gtx 580 (single i dont like SLI/CF -> game at 1080P) I run crysis warhead at max (Enthusiastic) with 4AA 1920/1080 and i get 30 fps (min) - 45 fps (max) and this is on stock I7 @ 2.67 GHz. Unless u are doing some kind of hungry Application work like video editing and running adope OCing CPU is totally useless at most gives u 1 - 5 fps? the real upgrade in terms of gaming is GPU. u have a quad I5/I7 @ stock u are good even the quad Q9000 series u are good. Again i will point out my theme: Oc useless in general for gaming (unless u are getting like 27 fps on crysis and want extra 1 - 4 fps) but then why not upgrade ur video card? Ocing in terms of using GPU dependant software is very visible it save time I mean u run things really quicker some times 2X faster than stock speed. Just try to add the extra memory for tripple channel. You are good except VGA card. U need like 560TI or 570 to run high detail and at least 6950 for ATI however i am sure 5870 will be good enough. When AA is turned on and graphics maxed then u will start to think 580 and up and 6970 and up. For 1080p resolution 580 should destroy BF3. for higher resolution I have no clue some people are suggesting SLI 570/580s and CF 6970. OC waste of time for now and upgrading to 970 or 960 cpu is also worthless u will not see the improvement with real gaming time. even amd 955 and 965 are good enough to play any game right now.
Do not be fooled like other people who want to justify what they buy and try to implement same way to others.
