my system recognizes the graphic card and in the device manger it shows my display adapter as gtx 650 ti.when the vga plug is attached to my gtx 650 ti the boot screen and desktop(low resolution) appears without any nvidia drivers installed....but when i install the nvidia drivers and restart, my screen goes blank(different colors appear each time i restart like once blue and once green...)....plz some one help...........

my guess is that
1. there is some problem with driver where my cpu and gpu are not compatible
2. some problem in vga driver.

my old card is nvidia 8400 gs and when i attach it my screen comes normally........the only problem is when i attach my gtx 650 ti and restart my pc the display crashes at the log in screen.

what i have done till now
1. updated bios
2. changed bios settings.
3. finished windows update.
4. installed all the previous drivers for the card including beta versions but it din't matter.

my specs
processor : intel core 2 duo E7400 2.8 GHz
mother board: gigabyte ga g311m es2l
psu : cool master 550 w RS-550-PCAr
ram : 4gb ddr2 ram
hard drive : 320 gb
gpu : nvidia geforce 8400 gs
at present trying to attach my palit gtx 650 ti

ive been trying everything since the first day i bought my gtx 650 ti..........sadly no luck.....nothing seems to work......the first two weeks i was really desperate to make this thing work so i dint even attend my college. And im right back at the start with nothing working out...the only thing i can do is to buy a new ati hd 6770....i lost all my hope...never want to buy any other nvidia product in my life again.....i am really sad....to me high graphic games were like magic.....and all those expectations got crushed.....lol im geting to senti....there's always something ahead so im planing to buy a new card which i mentioned earlier........if you find a solution to fix this issue please post it back here.....it would help a lot!!!! 😉

hey i have this problem too my computer is crashing every time i turn it on and most of the times it crash a blue screens appear. I just installed the gtx 650 ti 3 days ago and i have tried lots of thing and nothing seem to work. Mine is evga gtx 650 ti what's yours. Also did you return the card or tell me what you did

I had a similar problem, went from GT620 to GTX650 installed the new/updated driver rebooted and would just get a flashing screen.

Check release notes for driver and there is an issue with Windows 8 and driver update.

Flickering Black Screen After Installing R310 Drivers on Windows 8
Issue
After installing the R310 driver on Windows 8, the subsequent reboot results in a black or flickering screen.
Root Cause
This occurs because Windows Update performed a background installation of a Release 304 driver, which requires a reboot to complete the installation. After installing the Release 310 driver and then rebooting the system, installation of both the Release 304 as well as the Release 310 is completed, resulting in conflicting driver binaries and the black/flickering screen.
Workaround - Prevention
To avoid the issue, reboot the system before installing the Release 310 driver.
Alternately, you can check the driver status under the Device Manager and perform the reboot if the Device Manager indicates that a restart is needed. Then install the driver.
Workaround -
If you did not perform the necessary reboot prior to installing the driver and now encounter the black screen, do the following:
1Reboot in Safe Mode.
2Uninstall the driver.
3Disconnect from the internet and then restart the system.
4In normal mode, install the new driver.

Hope this helps.

well i tried everything thats on the internet...nothing fixed it...i dint return the card yet cause i know the problem is not with the card.....as the card works properly when the vga plug is connected to the it without the drivers installed...the only problem is with my operating system which is windows 7 and the graphics driver......

i use windows 7 and have the same problem......am i missing something in my operating system!!!!

i even installed the drivers after a fresh install of windows 7.......it dint work as it resulted in the same blue screen(not bsod) or black screen.......i even installed the drivers and rebooted after uninstalling the old drivers(even from registry using drive sweeper).....it dint work...my old 8400gs works just fine......but the new gtx 650 ti doesnt...

its driver problem i think so look i kinda made it work. What I did is this first download the latest gtx 650 ti driver which is 310.09 or something like that then restart your computer in safe mode, once in safe mode uninstall the nvidia drivers for your card, then restart again in safe mode, once again in safe mode install the 310 drivers before windows do an automatic driver installation, once the 310 installed restart your computer but now NOT in safe mode just like always, once in normal mode perform a clean bot or follow this instructions http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135#step2-9
I just did the first step but i recomend you to do all of them please come back with the results, as this almost repair most of my problem.

did this process work for you?? my screen goes blank after installing drivers in safe mode and rebooting in normal mode.....

i followed the whole process........my os boots just fine and even the desktop appears in native resolution......but after five seconds the screen goes blue......
this happens all the time.....computer boots, login appears, desktop appears but right after that my screen goes blue........did you disable any microsoft service in msconfig???

well looks like ur card is getting fully powered by that CM 550! & also I see people using gtx 560 ti with your mobo so the problem remains with the OS and drivers . Did you try any different OS ? btw which OS is ur friend using?

ya i still have the same problem i tried installing it on windows 8......but at the installation when the screen is adjusted to native resolution of the monitor the screen goes black.......it does not go into power saving mode......just goes blank......it wont even finish complete installation of nvidia drivers...........
