GTX 660 Not Working?

My Computer has a GeForce GTX 660 and I wanted to play GTA IV but apparently it is set on Intel HD Graphics 4600, does anyone know what has gone wrong? I don't know computers that well so if you could dumb it down that'd be great

Check to make sure you plugged the monitor into the video card and not the motherboard.

I remember I had issues with GTA 4 on my computer selecting the wrong GPU to use. Check if there is a setting to select which GPU to use

I have tried that and that is supposedly the way to fix it but then my monitor doesn't work

If you go to the start menu and type in "device manager" then open the menu that says "display adaptors", does the GTX 660 show up on that list?

Yes it does, below Intel(R) HD Graphics 4600

check to make sure your drivers are up to date. After that, go into the nvidia control panel in the bottom right corner of the screen (the green eye icon) and check for a setting to set the default GPU

It says it isn't available as I'm not using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU

Open the Nvidia Control Panel (from the notification area on the taskbar or by right-clicking the desktop) go Manage 3D Settings, find your game on the program to customise list (or add it manually) below that will be an option to choose the default GPU you want to run the game.

It won't let me open the control panel as I'm not using a display attached to an Nvidia GPU apparently

The GPU card may be faulty. Are you able to check it in another PC to help narrow down the problem?
