GTX 660 wont back down clock speed

Hi i have a Gigabyte Windforce GeForce GTX 660 and it wont idle when i doing nothing like sitting at the desktop its running at max MHz at the core and memory???? any help??

Check the usage of the GPU using GPUTEMP: http://www.gputemp.com/

Its free and I use it. Report back with usage percentage RIGHT AFTER BOOT UP! Don't manually open or close anything.

Thanks. GPU Core and GPU mem controller are at 1%, video engine is at 0 and GPU Mem is at 10%.

Hmm that is odd. Do you run MSI afterburner or something like that?

I do run Afterburner but purely for on screen display, I haven't overclocked it. I got the core and memory clocks from GPU-Z

I'd try uninstalling afterburner then. see if that would do anything

Sorry I stopped replying the GPU since randomly fixed itself. It now idles at 300 MHZ at the Core and 160 at the Ram
