Hey guys, long long time lurker here, and my graphics card currently is unusable after a solid 2 years of faithful gaming.

Also let's get this out of the way: EVGA GTX 670 FTW 2Gb, Intel i5 4570 3.20 GHz, 16Gb of RAM, B85M Gigabyte motherboard, and anything else you need to know just ask.

While I was on my computer, all of the sudden, the GPU's fan spun up REALLY high really quickly and then the computer shutdown almost instantly with the fan still going. I turned it off completely and then opened up the card to see if anything was out of place. There was some dust build up in the heat sink (as expected) and the thermal paste had dried up. So, I cleaned out all the dust to the best of my abilities, cleaned out all of the old thermal paste, and applied fresh new paste. Then I hooked everything back up and tried to turn on the computer except the fan immediately spun up WARPSPEED and the mobo splash screen didn't even pop up.

What do you guys think I should do? The games I play on it aren't really all that intense as of lately and I don't overclock the card at all. The card is older than the warranty now, which is bad because I can just have EVGA fix it, but it does mean I'm willing to do something that would otherwise void a warranty. I'm not super rich so buying a new graphics card is like plan G for me right now. Any and all suggestions are welcome and I really appreciate you guys helping a friend out on this.

Update, in case anyone in the future has this problem. I solved this problem by checking that the 6-pin PCIe cable was in working condition and it was not. After further analysis, I saw that cable had burned out and 2 of the yellow wires had fallen out. My graphics card wasn't getting enough power and I believe this was the issue I was having, not a faulty card.
