I have following set up:
Graphic Card: GTX 670 FTW
3 Monitors: 1) Apple Cinema Display 27"; 2) Dell P2415Q; 3) Dell P2415Q
Connections: Apple Cinema Display connected to display port (via adapter); one of Dell connect with standard HDMI cable; the other Dell connect with "HDMI to DVI-D" cable, with HDMI side connect to the monitor.

Now,
when I set all monitors at 2560*1440 resolution, I can only set 2 of the monitors at 60Hz and I'm forced to set the 3rd at 29Hz. So I now set the 27" at 2560*1440 and 2 Dells at 1920*1080 so that I can have all 3 monitors at 60Hz.
My question: do I need a better graphic card to have all 3 monitors at 2560*1440 AND 60 Hz? Or Is there something I can do to fix this? I think it might have to do with the cables but I'm not too sure. Please let me know.

Best,

Hi basroil,

Thank you so much for your answer. I don't know much about cables and dual links.
Would you please help me and tell me exactly what cables I need to purchase to make this work?
Thank you again!

You still can't run the 4k monitors at native res 60Hz though :/ It just pains me to see the extra pixels going to waste haha. You did solve the problem he asked about though.

So if i get a new graphic card like this, will it solve the issue??

You have one DP and one DVI dual link (currently used by the apple display). Just buy the MST hub from the link above and it should just work (and two DP cables if your monitors didn't come with one)

He was running the Apple cinema on DP, so he'll need the MST hub, 2 DP to DP cables, a DVI-D to DVI-D cable, and a DVI-D to thunderbolt adaptor right?

MST hub, his current adapter, one DP to DP mini, and then the DVI DL to DVI DL cable (NOT a DVI D to DVID, that would be single link)

Apple and one dell are plugged into the MST, second Dell with DVI DL cable

Ok. I'm going to purchase what you suggested. It's almost $100 so I figured I drop $300 more and just buy a brand new GPU. I guess if I still need this MST hub, then there is no reason to upgrade it.

You didn't read the post correctly. You do NOT need the hub with the 1070, and can instead just plug all the displayport connections directly. The card is a huge improvement over your current one and very much recommended if you intend to game at 1440p or higher!

Ok. Purchasing 1070 instead. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!!

THANK YOU!!!

If you're not gaming get a 1060 and save yourself the $200 for the same set of displayports (it still has 3). If you are gaming then enjoy your new card haha.

Ok... now...
I do play Dota 2. That's the only game I play and will never play other games.
Is 1070 better option then??? or just buy 1060????

Other apps I use are Chrome and Excel... xD
